I enjoyed Munirah’s batik class so much! I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking to learn something new in a creative and collaborative space. Muni is kind, welcoming, and a patient teacher. She briefly explains some of the history and significance of batik techniques and tools in addition the basic chemistry of dying textiles. She provides plenty of examples and walks you through the process of painting a scarf with as much or as little support as you want/need. I especially love how collaborative Muni is! As soon as I booked the class, I got a message asking if I had a particular design or theme in mind for my scarf. She was just as open and collaborative during the class, as she invited me to select colors the colors and shades to be used on my design. I loved every moment of the class! It was a great experience, and I hope to take more classes with Muni if I’m in Miami in the future.
